MACHINE EMBROIDERY TIPS

* Use 60 wt. thread in the bobbin

* Use a permanent marker and label the embroidery bobbins with an E.  Only use those bobbins for embroidery OR use a specific color bobbin for embroidery

* Use Microtex, titanium or chrome needles

* Use Heat & Gone on towels

* Use cutaway stabilizer in knits to prevent stretching and design distortion

* Use a dampened Q-tip to remove water soluble stabilizer in hard-to-reach, or small, areas

* Keep a wrapping paper cutter near tear-away to quickly cut pieces from roll

* To prevent overspray, place embroidery projects in a gift box (or cover) when spraying adhesive

* Use binder clips to secure excess fabric around the hoop

* Hoop on top of a cutting mat to keep the hoop straight.

* Label the type of stabilizer on the bottom inside cardboard tube

* Launder ready-made garments before embroidering to prevent shrinkage and puckering.

* Use a non-slip rug pad under the hoop while hooping fabric to avoid slippage
