Neighborhood Groups (NGs) are small member groups who meet to pursue special interests such as:

Hand sewing (embroidery, Sashiko, etc.)

And other fiber arts related interests

Currently, the Lansing Clippers have the following Neighborhood Groups:

NG – Sew Styling
Purpose – To pursue the love of sewing. Every sewist is welcome, from beginner to experienced. We are primarily a discussion group, with interest in learning sewing tips and techniques. Members also try to help each other with sewing issues.
April 10, 2025 Meeting Canceled due to scheduling conflicts.
May 8: Bag finishes - the choice of hardware can elevate a bag’s overall design. Let's explore garment interfacing.
June 12: Strap making. Helpful knit sewing tips.
Please bring on or before July 10: items made for the library to reward in July, the participants in their Children, Teen and Adult Reading Program.

NG – Happy Hoopers Embroidery Group

Purpose – To learn more about machine embroidery. This is a discussion group only. All aspects of machine embroidery are discussed and members show successful embroideries as well as those that did not turn out as expected. Members try to help each other with problems they encounter with embroidery projects. Everyone is welcome regardless of level of expertise or brand of embroidery machine.

NG - Pattern Works
Purpose – To learn how to fit patterns, hack/mash patterns, and draft patterns.
This group meets the second Saturday each month at the Delta Community District Library, Lissa K. McLean Room, 5130 Davenport Dr., Lansing, MI 48917. Meeting dates for the next three months are:

Please join us at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 12th at the Delta Community District Library in the Lissa K. McLean Room at 5130 Davenport Dr., Lansing, Mi.
At our March meeting, we made final alterations to our patterns and muslins for our woven tops. We also made plans for our next project which will be fitting and sewing pants.

April 12th we will demonstrate how to install a fly front zipper. Members will have an opportunity to sew a fly front zipper themselves. The sewing machine, fabric and zippers will be provided at the meeting. We will do as many as time permits.
You are asked to bring your pants patterns with you. We will take a look at the patterns and discuss the steps you need to take at home to prepare your pattern for alterations.

NG- Skein Gang Cancelled for March
Purpose - To pursue the art of knitting and crocheting. This group will work on individual projects. Members will help each other with problems encountered with their projects. Everyone is welcome regardless of their level of expertise.
Join us Monday,April 28th at the Delta Community Library, Lissa K. McLean Room, 5130 Davenport Dr., Lansing, MI 48917 from 10 a.m - 1:00 p.m.
Bring your lunch and something to drink. All drinks must have lids to prevent spilling.
